Forma Nova, XP cursor set by iixo Forma Nova, XP cursor set by iixo
I've never created cursors before, so these are my first ones. I've tested these in XP only, so I can't say whether they work in Vista or not.

Suggestions and feedback are very welcome :D

Also thanks to e-sushi for converting the cursors into 24-bit, which allow windows to add a shadow.

Download the 24-bit version here

What really makes this iconset so fun and appealing is the 'candyfrost' touch, really simple and elegant.

Nice work mate! :)-

Just a tip from a coder's point of view, relating to your "problem solver" in the readme.txt file.

If you are using 32 bit channels as a cursor, you have to "hard-code" the shadow yourself! XP will NOT be able to draw a shadow underneath it. If you must have high-quality cursors, use 24 bits... so the ALPHA channel XP expects and uses doesn't get blocked. Or, as I did in this case and they still look good... simply use 256 color standard cursors that downgrade to almost any Windows operating system and are sure to be compatible to future ones.

Hope you read this as a "tip" and not as a "nagging comment".

As for the design: it's cool... and the INF installer works great.

it's not a 'nagging comment', not at all.

It's a great hint for me. I was faced with that problem once before and I didn't really find out why it was looking soo crappy^^

thanks again... ;)

no problem... glad I could help.

By the way, don't remember if I allready wrote it: you can include several color depths into one cursor. Meaning: you could go as far as to create a cursor with a 2bit, a 16 color, a 256 color, a 24 bit and a 32 bit color depth. Such a cursor seems to downgrade flawless on the systems I tested.

Anyways: great design, so keep it going! ;)
